Hitachi and Google Cloud expanded their strategic alliance to help strengthen Hitachi’s Forward Deployed Engineers model, enhance HMAX with Gemini Enterprise, and support cybersecurity capabilities for AI-driven threats.

Hitachi and Google Cloud announced an expansion of their strategic alliance to help support the real-world deployment of physical AI and strengthen cybersecurity capabilities for AI-driven threats.

As part of the collaboration, Hitachi will bolster its Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) model, combining its experience across IT, operational technology (OT), and products developed through Lumada with Google Cloud’s AI capabilities.

FDEs work directly with customers to help identify operational challenges, validate value through proof-of-concepts, and support deployment into production environments. According to Hitachi, this model will help accelerate physical AI adoption by combining its co-creation approach and digital engineering capabilities with Google Cloud’s AI technologies.

Through the expanded alliance, Hitachi and Google Cloud will further enhance HMAX by Hitachi using Gemini Enterprise. The enhanced HMAX environment is intended to help address frontline worker challenges through autonomous operations in complex industrial and social infrastructure environments.

The companies also plan to scale FDE knowledge through a reusable data platform, helping to further enable domain knowledge developed through customer engagements to be applied across a wider range of use cases and customers.

The collaboration also includes cybersecurity capabilities designed to help customers respond to AI-driven cyber threats. Hitachi’s Cyber Center of Excellence will work with Google Cloud to deliver Google Cloud Security capabilities alongside Hitachi’s mission-critical domain knowledge and OT experience.

The expanded alliance brings together Hitachi’s IT, OT, and product expertise; it's GlobalLogic’s AI-native software engineering capabilities; and Google Cloud’s AI and cybersecurity technologies to help support physical AI deployment and secure digital transformation across industrial and infrastructure environments.
