The new Hirschmann SPIDER III Unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switches are replacement variants for the company’s legacy SPIDER-SL and SPIDER-PL switches. The SPIDER III switch family simplifies field connectivity, cost-effectively providing basic Ethernet switch functions at an advantageous price point for applications that don’t require critical security or network availability, including smaller infrastructures and field-level networks.
The Hirschmann SPIDER III Unmanaged Switch Family is divided into 3 subfamilies: SPIDER III Standard Line Switches, SPIDER III Power over Ethernet (PoE) Switches, and SPIDER III Premium Line Switches.
SPIDER III Standard Line (SL) devices are energy-efficient, low-power consumption devices that support Fast Ethernet and 1 Gigabit Ethernet options for reduced overall lifecycle costs and a sustainable, eco-friendly solution.
SPIDER III Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices enable flexible network expansion with configurable fiber and copper port options, increased performance, and reduced costs and provide greater power to more devices without an external power supply. These switches meet the needs of automation environments that require reduced cabling, meet many industry-specific standards (like E1, DNV & ATEX), and are optimal for use in harsh environments, particularly those with high temperatures.
SPIDER III Premium Line (PL) devices feature advanced capabilities plus easy installation configuration via a USB port on the device as well as the free, stand-alone Switch Programming Tool. Premium Line devices feature a ruggedized metal case and operate over a wide temperature range of -40°C to +70°C to withstand extreme conditions.
Lumberg Automation is a Belden brand, and its LioN-X IO-Link Master Family added two modules that feature HTTPS for the LioN-X webserver, offering even higher security. The LioN-X and LioN-Power IO-Link Masters allow easy integration into the most common industrial PLC environments. The new LioN-X family is multiprotocol capable and ready for Industry 4.0 due to several on board industrial IoT protocols, including OPC UA, MQTT, CoAP & REST APIs.
