PTC announced Creo 12, the latest version of its Creo® computer-aided design (CAD) solution. The release includes updates across design, simulation, and manufacturing capabilities, focused on helping manufacturers deliver higher-quality products faster and more efficiently.

  • Improved Usability and Productivity: New user-driven features include feature presets, assemblies derived from multi-body parts, and updates to both sheet metal design and advanced surfacing tools. These enhancements focus on the evolving needs of manufacturers looking to further streamline complex workflows and boost throughput.

  • Advanced Composites Design and Manufacturing: Enhanced composite development tools help to support more precise, high-performance design, production and quality.

  • Enhanced AI-Driven Generative Design: Thermal physics have been added to Creo’s AI-driven generative design capabilities, alongside automatic contact creation in Ansys real-time simulation. These improvements help to enable faster design iterations and earlier-stage optimization.

  • Design for Electrification: Creo 12 further strengthens cable harness design, streamlining collaboration and simplifying complex harness assemblies in support of electrification initiatives.

The update also introduces new links between Creo models and engineering material data from PTC’s Windchill® product lifecycle management (PLM) system. By enabling increased visibility into material choices and their associated environmental impacts, including carbon footprints, Creo 12 supports sustainability initiatives at the design level.

Additionally, the latest version of Creo+®, the SaaS variant of Creo, is now available, offering cloud-enabled collaboration and entitlement management to help further enhance team productivity and design agility.
