Company and Product News

Red Lion’s FlexEdge Intelligent Edge Automation Platform now combines Linux with the company’s Crimson 3.2 software into one operating system.  This fusion enables a single FlexEdge controller to provide more advanced networking, security, and automation functionality.  By integrating information technology and operational technology, FlexEdge helps its users to reduce costs, improve data security, and increase productivity in applications where it is applied.

Powered by Red Lion’s Crimson 3.2 software, the FlexEdge platform provides its users with added flexibility to more easily modify controller functionality as application needs change, leveraging a single controller’s capabilities that range from advanced networking to automation.  Users of the FlexEdge Intelligent Edge Automation Platform can enable additional functionality through field-unlockable software upgrades that can eliminate the need to purchase or add more equipment, helping to save money and minimize unnecessary downtime.

These new capabilities provide the flexibility for new FlexEdge Intelligent Edge Automation Platform combinations, further expanding the applications to which it can be deployed.  With FlexEdge’s modular communications sleds, users can now deploy multi-cellular radio gateways for more critical communications applications.  Also, for environments with more demanding requirements, the platform offers multiple isolated serial ports, routable Ethernet ports, optional serial, USB, Wi-Fi, and cellular communications sleds, and field-installable I/O.
