Rockwell Automation and Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) announced a collaboration to help support manufacturers in accelerating their digital transformation journeys. The initiative brings together Rockwell Automation’s operational technology (OT) and AWS’s cloud services to provide more secure, scalable solutions that help to improve asset performance, enhance visibility, and convert operational data into actionable insights.
As manufacturers face growing complexity across their operations, the need for flexible cloud-connected systems is becoming central to digital progress. This collaboration is designed to align with demands from key industries, such as life sciences, automotive, and consumer packaged goods, where unifying data across systems is increasingly essential. The companies aim to help simplify the connection between factory floors and cloud platforms, enabling advanced analytics, industrial software, and AI-powered applications without disrupting existing workflows.
The collaboration also includes expanded Software-as-a-Service offerings from Rockwell Automation within FactoryTalk® Hub on AWS. These include the DataMosaix™ industrial DataOps platform and the Fiix® computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), both now available in the AWS Marketplace. Additional FactoryTalk Hub tools are expected to be added throughout the year.
AWS has also joined the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork™ as a Technology Partner. Examples of Rockwell Automation’s cloud-enabled industrial solutions now integrated with AWS, include:
FactoryTalk DataMosaix: A cloud-based platform that enhances access to industrial data helps to provide deeper insights, developed through Rockwell Automation’s work with Cognite.
Fiix CMMS: A system for optimizing asset performance, built on AWS’s cloud infrastructure.
Production Logistics: A real-time scheduling and management solution for fleets of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), powered by AI.
By integrating cloud intelligence directly into industrial workflows, this collaboration illustrates a shift toward smarter, more connected manufacturing environments, where agility, scalability, and data-driven decision-making are foundational rather than optional.
According to Craig Resnick, Vice President, ARC Advisory Group, "This collaboration will help Rockwell Automation's and AWS customers accelerate their digital transformation journeys, while also helping them address today's challenges ranging from incorporation of AI and other technologies, IT/OT/ET convergence, increasing their operational resilience and sustainability, and managing operations to best address changes to supply chains and costs. Benefits will be helping these companies to address ever changing market demands, resulting in growth of both revenues and profits along with the company's long-term viability".
