Rockwell Automation announced the launch of its Security Monitoring and Response service, a dedicated solution designed for operational technology (OT) environments. The service delivers continuous, real-time threat detection and response, aiming to help reduce downtime, mitigate security incidents, and address critical cybersecurity gaps in industrial settings.

The service integrates into existing architectures and is enabled by the Rockwell Automation OT Security Operations Center (SOC). Developed with input from experienced OT cybersecurity analysts, the offering is structured to help address persistent challenges, such as rising cyber risks, limited security expertise, and operational inefficiencies. Its design reflects the growing need for built-in resilience across industrial operations.

The rising volume and sophistication of cyberattacks on OT infrastructure, combined with a shortage of skilled cybersecurity personnel, have placed additional strain on manufacturers. Cybersecurity threats and workforce challenges are among the top external obstacles for critical industries.

The new service, supported by Rockwell Automation’s OT SOC, helps organizations to close those gaps by providing:

  • Continuous Monitoring and Advanced Threat Detection: Around-the-clock surveillance of OT environments, with alerts analyzed and prioritized by cybersecurity analysts using advanced analytics.

  • Rapid Response and Remediation: Expert guidance to support incident response and containment, helping to reduce the operational impact of breaches.

  • Comprehensive Reporting and Scalability: Monthly executive summaries and quarterly business reviews to support transparency and strategic planning, while a modular design helps to ensure the service can be tailored to evolving business needs.

By embedding cybersecurity operations into core industrial systems, the launch of this new service reflects of the broader trend of organizations shifting toward proactive and integrated approaches to security. Rather than relying solely on in-house resources, many manufacturers are turning to specialized providers to help automate routine tasks, streamline threat detection, and strengthen resilience at scale.

Security Monitoring and Response services are currently available for Rockwell Automation customers and its security partners.
