Helps to Advance integrated power, cooling, and digital twin architectures for next-generation AI infrastructure.

Schneider Electric, in collaboration with NVIDIA and AVEVA, announced advancements in the design, simulation, build, operation, and maintenance of next-generation AI data center infrastructure, including validated reference designs, digital twin integration, and agentic AI capabilities.

The announcements include a new NVIDIA Vera Rubin reference design for power and cooling of rack-scale systems, integration of lifecycle digital twin capabilities within the NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint ecosystem, and early testing of agentic AI models for alarm management services.

These developments extend Schneider Electric’s ongoing collaboration with NVIDIA and help to establish a foundation for AI Factories designed for gigawatt-scale performance and efficiency.

NVIDIA Vera Rubin Reference Design

The new reference design is among the first developed for NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 racks and helps to validate power and cooling architectures for next-generation rack-scale systems. It integrates with Schneider Electric’s controls reference designs and helps to address key infrastructure requirements:

  • Enables power distribution with increased supply voltage of 480 VAC.

  • Supports higher TCS loop supply temperatures of 45°C to improve efficiency.

  • Introduces IT room architectures with clustered AI racks sharing centralized networking, storage, CPU, and support infrastructure, while maintaining proximity and helping to enable higher voltage distribution for GPU racks.

  • Supports multiple GPU operating points, including MaxP and MaxQ, helping to allow improved token output per watt and optimized performance under power constraints.

The reference design is validated using ETAP models for electrical system design and ITD CFD models for layout and airflow analysis.

Lifecycle Digital Twin Architecture for AI Factories

AVEVA, owned by Schneider Electric, has collaborated with NVIDIA to develop a lifecycle digital twin architecture integrated into the NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint. Schneider Electric is contributing SimReady assets and digital twins, supported by AVEVA’s engineering and operations software, which is embedded across the Omniverse ecosystem.

This approach helps to enable domain-specific simulations, digital visualization, and collaborative design to improve GPU efficiency and accelerate deployment. Once system architectures are assembled within the Omniverse environment, AVEVA executes multi-domain simulations covering power distribution, thermal dynamics, airflow, and control systems.

These simulations help to support iterative design optimization, scenario evaluation across varying loads and environmental conditions, and system validation prior to physical deployment, reducing engineering cycles and improving deployment accuracy.

Agentic AI for Alarm Management

Schneider Electric has also tested the NVIDIA Nemotron model to help support an agentic AI capability for alarm management services. This capability helps to address challenges in interpreting alarms across complex systems by leveraging real-time streaming Industrial IoT data.

The system autonomously analyzes, diagnoses, and recommends actions using integrated tools, helping to support faster issue resolution, reducing unnecessary interventions, and improving operational resilience across data center environments.

Ongoing Collaboration and Ecosystem Development

These announcements build on continued collaboration between Schneider Electric and NVIDIA:

  • Collaboration with Switch and NVIDIA integrates Schneider Electric expertise into Switch’s LDC EVO operating system, helping to enable real-time monitoring and automation across data center systems using Omniverse and OpenUSD.

  • ETAP integration with NVIDIA Omniverse helps to enable unified digital twin environments for power system design and validation.

  • Schneider Electric, ETAP, and AVEVA joined the Alliance for OpenUSD to support interoperability and simulation-ready 3D assets.

  • Schneider Electric's continued support of the transition to 800 VDC power architectures for high-density rack systems.

  • Additional reference designs supporting NVIDIA Mission Control and GB300 NVL72 incorporate ETAP and EcoStruxure IT Design CFD models for simulation-driven optimization.

These developments reflect a broader shift toward combining validated reference designs, lifecycle digital twins, and integrated AI capabilities to help address the increasing complexity of AI infrastructure. The integration of power, cooling, simulation, and real-time operational intelligence is becoming more central to help enable scalable, efficient, and predictable AI Factory deployments at gigawatt scale.
