Schneider Electric Launches New Digital Ecosystem to Help Drive Global Economies of Scale for IoT solutions 

Schneider Electric announces the launch of Schneider Electric Exchange, a cross-industry open ecosystem designed to help solve real-world sustainability and efficiency challenges. 

Schneider Electric Exchange is designed to help empower a diverse community of users to create and scale business solutions and provide new market value.  As digitization helps to change the way manufacturers work and interact, energy fundamentally becomes more distributed. With Schneider Electric Exchange, individuals gain entry to a large network of technical tools and resources to develop, share, and sell digital and IoT solutions.

Schneider Electric’s New Advisor Apps, Analytics and Services for Industry, Building, Data Center and Energy Managers

Amid digitization in all areas of industry, Schneider Electric announces seven new EcoStruxure “Advisor” apps and services that are designed to provide users with added value around safety, reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and connectivity and allow for a quicker and easier start on their digitization journey.

Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure platform offers users opportunities to better leverage their data through three levels of innovation: Apps, Analytics & Services, Edge Control and Connected Products.  At the top layer of EcoStruxure, the Advisor Apps, Analytics and Services give users added visibility of all connected products in their ecosystems, while delivering the analytics required to help further drive efficiency. 

Schneider Electric Announced Seven New EcoStruxure Advisor Apps for Industry, Smart Buildings, Data Centers, and Energy Grids

1. EcoStruxure Power Advisor combines advice with advanced algorithms to help identify gaps or issues in power management systems, as well as power quality issues within a larger electrical distribution system.  Power Advisor allows users to track and analyze equipment conditions, manage electrics capacity to help provide additional flexibility, and get advanced warnings remotely. Its network analytics provides users with real-time information on data quality through insights and recommendations that establish a data foundation, while electrical network health system summaries and trending analytics help to improve awareness of electrical network issues.
2. EcoStruxure IT Advisor is planning and modeling software that provides data center personnel with an instant overview of their data center operations, helping them better optimize their capacities, plan changes and analyze business impact, automate workflow, and deploy energy-based billing to help to reduce OpEx and increase ROI.  IT Advisor gives users an overview of the physical location of assets via a floor view with areas, cages and racks, and IT assets.  It helps to improve capacity optimization by ensuring that physical infrastructure provides the needed redundancy, backup time and availability, and allows for better change management due to real-time analysis of data center infrastructure that highlights redundancy vulnerabilities through impact simulation. Because it is cloud-based, IT advisor can access data from any location, delivering up-to-date cybersecurity, as well as automatic software updates and backup.
3. Designed for large office buildings, EcoStruxure Workplace Advisor is a more flexible suite of digital services that help building managers to create smarter, more responsive workplaces.  Actionable insights are delivered through more intuitive dashboards that analyze data from IoT-connected devices and systems.  At the same time, users can find more efficient and convenient ways to connect to their workspaces using mobile applications.  Workplace Advisor helps to maximize space efficiency by more quickly identifying underutilized desks, offices, meeting rooms, and amenities for reallocation based on real data, while letting users see available spaces in real-time to support office hoteling. It also helps to improve occupant quality of life and productivity by actively monitoring temperature, humidity, CO2, noise, light, and volatile organic compound (VOC) levels.
4. EcoStruxure Process Safety Advisor is a digital process safety platform and service that aggregates real-time data, analytics and insights from multiple sites and geographies into a single user interface so that users can create a more accurate, enterprise-wide risk profile in real time.  It also helps to identify the need to take corrective action via performance dashboards and indicators for safety health.  It then documents the process using an embedded SIF audit trail that supports safety compliance.  Safety Advisor helps to enable users to better understand their risks and then act to drive better business results, because they will know better how to more safely drive their assets and operations, and control their business risks, including risks to the safety, sustainability, efficiency, reliability, and profitability of their operations, in real time.
5. EcoStruxure Equipment Efficiency Advisor enables profiling and measurement of micro, persistent, and hidden losses in manufacturing environments.  Designed for operators, production managers and maintenance personnel, it collects, measures, analyzes, and reports operational performance, availability, quality, and OEE, while performing root cause analyses.  Equipment Efficiency Advisor includes a Lean Manufacturing Tool for performance management, real time KPI for machines and production lines, and is accessible through a graphical interface.
6. EcoStruxure Pumping Performance Advisor helps to increase the performance, efficiency and sustainability of Water & Wastewater pumping stations.  Delivered through consulting and Software as a Digital Service, Pumping Performance Advisor provides maintenance cost assessments, a Service Bureau that turns actionable insights into recommendations via user dashboards accessible through the Schneider Electric Digital Services Platform.  Pumping Performance Advisor helps to deliver real-time profitability, with up to 15 percent projected savings on operational expenditures, improved asset performance, and further optimized energy efficiency by detecting inefficiencies, predicting faults, and delivering recommendations based on operating realities.  
7. EcoStruxure Clean-In-Place Advisor includes a Walkthrough Audit to help check conformity with best practices on Energy, Automation, and Process. The CIP monitoring tool provides traceability and diagnostics, product loss monitoring, an energy monitoring dashboard, and real-time reports. This functionality helps users to further eradicate losses, reduce unnecessary consumption, better ensure cleaning effectiveness, and reduce cleaning time.

Schneider Electric’s Announces Modicon M262 Controller and TeSys island Digital Load Management System

Schneider Electric announced the Modicon M262 Logic & Motion controller and TeSys island multifunctional digital load management system, which can help to make it easier for OEMs to deploy IIoT-ready machines.

EcoStruxure, combined with TeSys island Digital Load Management and Modicon M262, gives OEMs the ability to integrate IIoT into new and existing machines:  

• TeSys island, a new digitized IoT connected load management solution that can help save on design, wiring, and commissioning time as it is based on multifunctional devices and avatars for industrial applications with loads up to 80 amps. 
• Modicon M262 with embedded direct cloud connectivity and encrypted communication protocols, and up to 5 separated Ethernet networks for faster logic and motion performance in more demanding applications. Modicon M262 provides increased performance with up to 30 percent better motion and four times faster CPU execution than previous solutions.

EcoStruxure allows for up to 40 percent faster integration of Modicon M262 and TeSys island into many environments: machine to machine, machine to plant, and direct machine to cloud, using open standards, with built-in end-to-end cybersecurity that offers encrypted communication and network segmentation.  TeSys island and Modicon M262 help to eliminate the need for additional hardware of a traditional contractor solution for cloud connectivity, with testing and commissioning capabilities to help facilitate upgrades of existing equipment at scale.

Schneider Electric’s New Easergy P5 Protection Relay Designed to Help Provide MV Network Protection with More Advanced Connectivity, Safety, and Simplicity

Schneider Electric announces the new, connected Easergy P5, part of the PowerLogic range of intelligent devices, to help meet the energy needs of electricity companies in the IoT era.  The P5 protection relay is designed to offer greater safety, simplicity, and reliability.

The Easergy P5 has been engineered to provide increased protection and control of critical assets with a digital experience.  It helps to unite a number of features together in a single device.  Network operators get increased protection for more demanding applications, with arc-flash protection and cybersecurity, higher reliability, and more advanced connectivity in a more user friendly device.

The Easergy P5 is designed to be:

• More Reliable – Sensors connected to the P5 help to enable predictive maintenance of the switchgear when paired with EcoStruxure Asset Advisor. Thermal and humidity information help to identify more problematic connections or environmental conditions that could be harmful to switchgear health.
• More Efficient – Asset Advisor enables operators to only have to maintain assets when needed, helping to save time and costs. When maintenance is required, the P5 offers safety with arc-flash protection to help minimize exposure to dangerous conditions.
