Initiative Addresses Data Shortage to Support Decarbonization in Building Services
Schneider Electric announced a partnership with One Click LCA, a sustainability software platform for construction and manufacturing. The collaboration helps to address the challenge of data shortages in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, specifically in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.

Buildings are responsible for generating 40 percent of the global greenhouse gas emissions and half of today’s buildings are expected to remain in use by 2050. Schneider Electric highlights retrofitting as a critical focus area, capable of reducing lifecycle carbon emissions of buildings by up to 83 percent. This partnership helps to support this effort by enabling more accurate environmental impact assessments through access to detailed MEP product data.
One Click LCA users will gain access to comprehensive Schneider Electric product data, allowing for improved lifecycle assessment (LCA) accuracy. By integrating Schneider Electric’s environmental data into the One Click LCA platform, the initiative is designed to further empower AEC professionals to help make more sustainable decisions in designing and retrofitting buildings.
Key Features of the Partnership
Integration of Environmental Data: Schneider Electric’s MEP product data will be accessible on the One Click LCA platform, helping to enhance the precision of building environmental impact calculations.
Enhanced Early-stage Assessments: The collaboration helps to foster mutual learning to improve environmental impact evaluations during the initial phases of construction projects.
Sustainable Product Selection: The platform facilitates better-informed decisions, helping professionals to choose products that better align with decarbonization goals.
This initiative marks a step toward to improving environmental transparency and setting a higher standard for data sharing in the building industry. By addressing critical gaps in MEP environmental data, Schneider Electric and One Click LCA are helping to further support global sustainability efforts.
