According to Scott Wooldridge, Regional President for Asia Pacific at Rockwell Automation, artificial intelligence is far more than a passing trend. For the $8.26 billion company (FY2024), AI is already embedded in its existing product portfolio and is shaping future development. “We see AI being embedded in all layers of our product hierarchy and becoming intuitive and simple to deploy,” he says.
Scott also believes manufacturing is poised to move faster by adopting AI than industries like banking and finance, which traditionally led in early technology adoption. “I think AI is one of those opportunities where manufacturing, which has historically lagged in new technology development, can take a leadership position,” he explains.
As Regional President, Wooldridge oversees one of Rockwell Automation’s three global operating territories—the others being the Americas and EMEA. For the 2024 fiscal year (ending October 31, 2024), the Asia-Pacific region generated $1.07 billion in revenue, with organic sales growing 20 percent. The company’s regional presence includes manufacturing plants in China, India, and Singapore, alongside engineering, sales, and support offices across major countries in the region.
