Toyota and Stratasys Partnership Expands Additive Manufacturing for Faster Prototyping and Factory Innovation

TOYOTA AND STRATASYS ARE WORKING TOGETHER TO BRING INDUSTRIAL-GRADE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING DIRECTLY TO THE FACTORY FLOOR, ENABLING FASTER DESIGN ITERATIONS AND MORE RESILIENT PRODUCTION PROCESSES.

Toyota’s production engineering group is advancing factory innovation with Stratasys by integrating additive manufacturing to take tools and prototypes from concept to working parts in about a day.

Toyota has collaborated with Stratasys for more than a decade, giving engineers access to industrial-grade 3D printers and durable materials suited to factory conditions. This reduces reliance on external suppliers and lengthy lead times, enabling rapid iteration and real-time adaptation to production needs.

Toyota is integrating these solutions across its North American operations. Much of this work is supported by the Toyota Add Lab, its in-house additive manufacturing center opened in January 2023 to accelerate R&D and factory innovation.

This integration allows engineers to move from sketches or digital models to working parts within a day, supporting safer solutions, continuous improvement, and greater flexibility on the factory floor.
