ARC Report Abstract

In this video of a session at the 2020 ARC Industry Forum, Santiago Arámbula from thyssenkrupp discusses that company's innovative augmented reality solution at its Bilstein manufacturing plant in Germany.  This solution, developed in conjunction with the Microsoft Vision Lab, uses Microsoft HoloLens "wearable" technology to train, support, and empower warehouse employees through augmented/extended reality.  According to Mr. Arámbula, the solution, one of  more than 20 successful use cases identified at thyssenkrupp, directs order pickers to the right bins, confirms accuracy, automatically updates inventory, and supports interactions between the order pickers and other personnel to speed critical turnaround times for customer order fulfillment.
