In a move to accelerate the advancement of mission-critical broadband solutions, the Utility Broadband Alliance (UBBA) and the 450 MHz Alliance (450A) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) intended to enhance the deployment of reliable, secure, and resilient wireless networks tailored to the unique needs of utilities. The Utility Broadband Alliance is dedicated to advancing broadband technology for mission-critical operations within the utility industry, while the 450 MHz Alliance promotes the adoption and development of 450 MHz spectrum technologies for critical applications in sectors such as utilities, public safety, and transportation.
The collaboration will focus on developing innovative solutions to support mission-critical communications, grid modernization, and the transition to smarter, more sustainable energy systems that leverage both UBBA’s private LTE broadband expertise with 450A’s leverage of the 450 MHz spectrum. The two entities will work together to drive initiatives through knowledge sharing, educational events, and the promotion of best practices to accelerate secure wireless adoption in the utility sector.
