The Dell Technologies Global Innovation Hub (GIH), which was officially opened in Singapore on February 22, will focus on advancing multiple growth areas for digital transformation, including augmented/mixed reality, data analytics, cloud-native, cybersecurity, and edge computing. It will also house a specialized team responsible for enhancing user 
experiences through innovation.
Launched under the company’s “Digital Future - Made in Singapore” initiative, the GIH represents an investment cost of $50 million over three years, with US$23 million set to be spent this year. The GIH, which is supported by Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), aims to fast track the adoption of digital solutions and drive digital innovations developed in Singapore for partners and customers to be future-ready.
The GIH houses existing R&D facilities in Singapore, including the Singapore Design Centre, which is responsible for global product design and development of key product categories, such as monitors and client peripherals. It also includes a hardware prototyping lab dedicated to product design and innovation, and an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Experience Zone that is a catalyst for AI understanding and adoption.
Having started as a PC-maker, the company says it now drives digital transformation initiatives for companies via a comprehensive product portfolio and deep expertise across edge computing, 5G, cloud, security and artificial intelligence and machine learning.
