I wrote recently about maintenance and asset performance management being the toehold for predictive analytics in the Industrial Internet of Things ecosystem. Interest in this area seems to be growing visibly, almost on a daily basis.
Last week I saw an article in IndustryWeek on how GE is revolutionizing its services business with big data and predictive analytics. And on Wednesday of this week, I'll be presenting on this topic at a customer event for IBM at the company's advanced analytics center in Columbus, OH. This afternoon showcase is billed as a “Predictive Maintenance and Quality Innovation Event". As well as myself and IBM solution experts, Honda are presenting a case study too. I'm really looking forward to being there, particularly in light of IBM's recent commitment to Industrial IoT.
