Schneider Electric and SUEZ, a provider of digital and circular solutions in waste and water services, announced they are joining forces to help accelerate the deployment of digital solutions for increased energy efficiency, resource conservation, and control of the carbon impact of water cycle management systems.
An estimated two-thirds of the world's population is projected to be living in water-stressed areas by 2025. SUEZ and Schneider Electric are partnering to provide a solution that helps to address the challenges of water scarcity through the deployment of better performing and more resilient water cycle infrastructures.
Under an international agreement, Schneider Electric will integrate SUEZ’s digital AQUADVANCED range of products into its water cycle management software, Ecostruxure Water Advisor. Deployed for over 10 years among public and private water management companies worldwide, AQUADVANCED currently covers more than 1,500 networks and plants.
The combination of EcoStruxure Water Advisor and AQUADVANCED is targeted at network and plant operators as well as water resources management teams. Equipped with artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, the combined solution can integrate and process thousands of data points in real time, which enables the monitoring and proactive management of water treatment infrastructure at multiple stages of the water cycle, such as detecting leaks and pollution. The solution also helps to control the impact of extreme climate events, such as floods and droughts, while also procuring supplies at a lower cost and optimizing water and wastewater treatment to better meet regulatory compliance and environmental standards.
A goal of the SUEZ and Schneider Electric partnership is to help accelerate the adoption of digital solutions with enhanced metric performance in the water industry. The new offer suite can help to reduce energy use by up to 30 percent, reduce non-revenue water use by up to 15 percent, and protect the quality of host environments by cutting up to half the volumes of wastewater discharged. It can also provide up to a 25 percent reduction in operational costs and provides a digital twin solution that can reduce total cost of ownership by up to 20 percent.
