At the ACHEMA 2015 trade show the organisations NAMUR, ARC Advisory Group and ZVEI will host their joint forum "Automation in Dialogue". On all five exhibition days a range of talks will cover the major themes of automation technology in the process industry in a variety of different formats.
Plant Asset Lifecycle Management
Up-to-date, accurate, easy to access engineering and asset information during the full plant life cycle brings significant engineering efficiency benefits for engineering procurement and construction companies (EPCs) and owner-operators (OOs).
Intelligent computer-aided engineering tool (CAE) systems enable concurrent and collaborative engineering. Engineering efficiencies are obtained because of an accurate, up-to-date, data repository that all engineering have access to at any point in time. These systems help maintaining engineering information integrity. Integrated engineering increases operational efficiency and safety.
ARC estimates that companies invest several man-months engineering time per plant per year. Major efficiency gains would be obtained when users would stimulate CAE and PCS vendors to implement the recently published standard NE 150 for bidirectional data exchange between the two types of systems. Standardization on systems, methodologies, modular engineering and processes, reduces the total cost of ownership, increases productivity, and reduces training costs.
In addition to high-profile panel discussions, visitors can acquire up-to-date information on selected topics in "Meet the Experts" and then join the experts for an informal discussion in the foyer afterwards. The spotlight will not only be on hot topics, such as Modular Automation, IT Security, and Energy and Resource Efficiency, but also on the latest developments in Industry 4.0 and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things). Additionally, the more traditional topics like Asset Information Management, Explosion Protection and Functional Safety will be addressed.
"Automation in Dialogue" will take place daily in the foyer of the ACHEMA Automation World from 15th to 19th of June 2015 in Hall 11, Level 1, Foyer Northwest.
