Belden Announces Solutions that Promote Safety and Security for Mission-Critical Performance

Belden Inc, a global supplier of industrial network infrastructure and digitization solutions, announced new products designed for secure, high-quality mission-critical performance in critical applications.  New offerings include new features for the PROVIZE network planning, configuration, and commissioning software suite, EAGLE40-4F firewalls, and FOUNDATION Fieldbus links for EtherNet/IP.

New features for the Belden PROVIZE software suite include network planning for Belden BOBCAT and GREYHOUND industrial Ethernet switches as well as subnet and MRP sub-ring configuration, CLI export, and template stacking capabilities.  Pricing options have also expanded with a new low priced Essentials tier license now offered in addition to the existing free and advanced options.

The new Hirschmann EAGLE40-4F Industrial Firewalls provide deep packet inspection and advanced cybersecurity. As part of the EAGLE40 family for mission-critical industrial applications, the firewalls feature stateful/deep packet inspection, IPSec VPN, and promote advanced cybersecurity through a robust design and numerous industrial certifications.

New FOUNDATION Fieldbus FF Links from ProSoft Technology allow users to connect Foundation Fieldbus (FF) H1 devices to an EtherNet/IP controller as either a Target or Originator. They can also be used to transfer FF device data using the Modbus TCP protocol to a Modbus client or server.

The FF Link module simplifies implementation of FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 by combining an EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP Linking device with an internal isolated power conditioner and bus terminator. The FOUNDATION Fieldbus Link supports module redundancy when in EtherNet/IP target mode, allowing two FF Link masters to be connected to the same H1 segment in a one-active-one-standby strategy.

Configuration is achieved using Aparian's free-downloadable Slate configuration environment. Slate generates H1 device specific UDTs and mapping code which can be imported into Studio 5000, allowing even complex systems to be configured in minutes.
