Schneider Electric announced the launch of the Modicon Edge I/O NTS, an Input/Output (I/O) system designed for more seamless data aggregation and to help address both current and future industrial challenges.
The Modicon Edge I/O NTS is Schneider Electric’s latest distributed IP20 I/O system, tailored to help meet diverse application needs, from simple tasks to demanding industrial processes. This flexible I/O family serves industries such as production machinery, discrete manufacturing, and continuous processes. It is suited for use across a wide range of sectors, including machinery, packaging, food and beverage, life sciences, water/wastewater, mining, critical infrastructure, data centers, and energy and chemicals.

Built for both present and future requirements, the Modicon Edge I/O NTS leverages open Ethernet protocols to connect more seamlessly to various devices and architectures. By embedding data intelligence in advanced technologies, it helps to enhance performance, availability, and cybersecurity. The system employs OPC UA technology for more secure communication and interoperability, helping to set a foundation for connected products tailored to Industry 4.0 and the Industrial IoT.
