PTC has announced a partnership with Makersite, a provider of AI-powered platforms for product lifecycle intelligence. This collaboration includes the integration of PTC’s enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution, Windchill, with Makersite’s data foundation and real-time insights.
The Windchill-Makersite integration is designed to support manufacturers in addressing growing demands for sustainability, compliance, and performance in product development. By unifying fragmented supplier data and enabling teams to analyze product footprints for parts and bills of materials (BOMs) directly within Windchill, the integration helps to streamline decision-making processes and boosts efficiency.
Key Benefits of the Integration
Bi-directional Data Flow: Windchill will transmit BOM data to Makersite, while Makersite will provide supply chain and environmental analyses.
Unified Insights: Key metrics, such as compliance, supply chain risk, and life cycle analysis (LCA) will be consolidated at the portfolio level within Windchill.
Cradle-to-gate Analysis: Teams will gain additional insights into supplier compliance and carbon footprints, enabling more comprehensive part and BOM analysis.
This integration helps to address the challenges of disconnected systems, incomplete data, and lengthy analysis processes by embedding sustainability and compliance insights directly into existing workflows.
Data-Driven Insights for Smarter Design
The Makersite platform, powered by AI and over 140 data sources on materials, processes, and suppliers, will help to enhance the capabilities of Windchill. With this resource, product teams can further optimize designs to help meet sustainability and compliance targets more seamlessly.
