Petrochemical and refining company HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) will leverage Emerson’s automation and software portfolio, including AI technologies, to optimize production while maintaining reliability, safety, and sustainability standards. HMEL operates the state-of-the-art Guru Gobind Singh Refinery, an integrated refinery-petrochemical complex in Bathinda, Punjab, India. The two companies formalized their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding during India Energy Week 2025 in New Delhi.
Emerson will deliver a real-time industrial data platform to connect operational technology (OT) with enterprise IT, enabling seamless integration and contextualization of data from multiple sources. Additionally, it will provide AspenTech’s multi-unit dynamic optimization solutions to enhance margins and support sustainability goals by integrating planning, scheduling, and advanced process control in a closed-loop system. The deployment will also include end-to-end demand forecasting, planning, and scheduling across the oil-to-chemical value chain. Emerson’s DeltaV control system, measurement solutions, and electronic marshalling technology are among the key solutions to be implemented.
