During the 28th Annual ARC Leadership Forum, the Energy Transition team hosted a workshop, “The Energy Imperative.” The workshop spanned across a multitude of topics including the state of carbon capture and hydrogen markets, as well as innovations in emissions management & reporting. Our workshop focused on leaders and laggards in the energy transition, based on a recent market survey report from the Energy team, highlighting the common practices of leaders and the trends followed by laggards.

Analysts Peter Manos and Gaven Simon, who both cover the ESG & EHS software market, spoke about the advances in this space.

Emissions monitoring supports compliance with stringent environmental regulations and reporting requirements while addressing growing public and investor demands for environmental responsibility. Ongoing monitoring helps mitigate compliance risks, lower operational costs, and reduce outages.

Regulations and environmental policies are one of the key drivers pushing the private sector to invest in ESG solutions and adopting sustainable practices. The drive for emissions reporting and decarbonization technologies is influencing companies in various ways. Many are forming partnerships to develop solutions and enhancing communication with key stakeholders across their value chain.

To offer a supplier's perspective on the ESG & EHS market, David Rocha from Wolters Kluwer took part in a panel Q&A. He oversees the product teams for ESG, EHS, CoW, and PSM within the Wolters Kluwer Enablon product suite. Wolters Kluwer operates in over 40 countries, serving customers in more than 180 nations. It generates €5.6 billion in revenue and supports 93 percent of the Fortune 500.

David answered questions such as:

  • Enablon serves businesses across 160 countries. How does the platform adapt to the needs of both multinational corporations and small-to-medium enterprises looking to improve their EHS and ESG performance?

  • How is the power of AI impacting Wolters Kluwer solutions offering for their customers?

  • What emerging trends in EHS and ESG technology do you see shaping the industry in the next five years?

  • Enablon Open Insights provides cloud-native analytics for safety and sustainability. How is AI and big data transforming risk management, and what role does Enablon play in this evolution?

Enablon is an enterprise platform dedicated to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence. Its broad scope of work includes:

  • ESG Excellence

  • Process Safety Management

  • Control of Work

  • Health and Safety Management

  • Environmental Management

Enablon recognizes the power and usefulness of AI. AI drives safer operations with cutting edge technology within the EHS & ESG space. Enablon deploys AI to automate workflows, create a more proactive risk management process, and enhance data management and analytics.

AI helps automate workflows by streamlining repetitive time-intensive tasks, gets contextual data at critical times of the workflow to drive better outcomes, and helps enable regulatory compliance processes.

Enablon leverages AI to enhance risk management strategies by identifying early indicators of increasing risk levels across various EHSQ business processes. Additionally, AI ensures that timely information reaches the right people at the right moment.

Lastly, AI is used to enhance data management and analytics by supporting multiple levels of data exploration and analysis, including trends analysis and forecasting. Additionally, AI is used to improve the quality of the data. As ESG reporting responsibilities become an integral business practice, AI can help reduce the burdensome task of combing through thousands of data points.

During the discussion, David acknowledged the impact of sustainability regulations but noted that many leading companies affected by these policies had already been voluntarily implementing some, if not all, of the required responsibilities, such as emissions reporting.

Enablon simplifies the complex task of compiling required reports and structuring data for other value chain members. But these reports offer more than just static PDFs—they can be leveraged for risk analysis, strategic planning, and trend forecasting.

During this active political climate with energy being at the forefront of many pressing conversations, partnerships, and communication amongst the private industries have become increasingly important. To help streamline communication and data sharing Enablon helps break down silos by unifying data and the languages shared between one another. Clients find major benefits in cross-department communication and can better collaborate between operational sites and enterprise levels.

Wolters Kluwer supports both leaders and laggards in the energy transition by addressing their evolving and complex ESG data requirements. Whether a company is just starting its transition or already making significant progress, Wolters Kluwer tailors its solutions to meet each customer's specific needs.
