Schneider Electric announced the launch of its One Digital Grid Platform, a new AI-powered system designed to help improve grid resiliency, reliability, and efficiency. The platform helps to enable utilities to integrate independent software solutions within a secure and scalable digital ecosystem. This supports grid modernization and helps to deliver cleaner, more affordable energy to consumers.
The One Digital Grid Platform brings together capabilities in three core areas:
Grid Planning and Asset Management: Offers more advanced design, validation, and data management tools that help to optimize infrastructure investments, contributing to longer-term grid reliability and cost reduction.
Grid Operations and Resiliency: Uses real-time data and predictive analytics to further enhance disaster response and increase grid flexibility, including during extreme weather conditions.
Grid Flexibility and Customer Engagement: Enables more seamless integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) while supporting a more dynamic energy ecosystem that helps to improve customer engagement.
Built on a hybrid cloud architecture, the platform provides real-time insights and automation. According to Schneider Electric, it has the potential to reduce outages by up to 40 percent, cut DER interconnection timelines by up to 25 percent, and shorten application deployment time by up to 60 percent.
The One Digital Grid Platform is expected to become available to utilities later this year.
