Siemens Digital Industries Software has acquired DownStream Technologies, a company specializing in manufacturing data preparation for printed circuit board (PCB) design, bolstering Siemens’ PCB design offerings and extending its reach in the electronics SMB market.

According to Siemens EDA, the acquisition marks a key move in the mid-sized PCB market, promising DownStream’s customers enhanced time to market, quality, and cost efficiency, while enabling Siemens to deliver a more advanced and integrated manufacturing data preparation solution that streamlines the design-to-production process.

Founded in 2002 and based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, DownStream Technologies develops tools for analyzing, processing, and documenting PCB manufacturing data. Its CAM350 suite is used to visualize, verify, and prepare PCB design data for fabrication.
