PTC integrates Omniverse libraries into Creo and Windchill to streamline complex product development and joins the Alliance for OpenUSD to advance 3D data interoperability.
PTC announced an expanded collaboration with NVIDIA to further accelerate product design and simulation for advanced technologies, including AI infrastructure. The integration brings NVIDIA Omniverse technologies into PTC’s Creo® CAD and Windchill® PLM solutions and reflects PTC’s commitment to open standards through its membership in the Alliance for OpenUSD (AOUSD).
Key Highlights
Omniverse Integration: PTC will embed NVIDIA Omniverse OpenUSD and RTX libraries into Creo and Windchill, enabling real-time simulation and high-fidelity visualization of CAD models within the PLM environment.
Enhanced Collaboration: Teams can access version-controlled product data in a shared, immersive environment, helping to accelerate decision-making and improve coordination across engineering, design, and marketing functions.
Digital Twin Workflows: The integration supports real-world simulation of complex systems, such as high-performance PCBs, cooling systems, and data center equipment, using live data sourced from Windchill.
Design Acceleration for AI Hardware: PTC has a long-standing role in helping NVIDIA develop hardware for AI infrastructure. This new phase embeds Omniverse capabilities directly into the platforms used to build that hardware.
Support for Open Standards: PTC has joined the Alliance for OpenUSD to help further advance open, interoperable 3D data exchange, and demonstrate its support for collaboration across the AI and design ecosystem.
These capabilities are expected to help reduce development risk, improve product quality, and shorten time to market, especially for increasingly integrated and engineering-intensive products.
