Hitachi aims to deepen data expertise and expand its presence in key European and Middle Eastern markets through this acquisition.
Hitachi announced that it has agreed to acquire Synvert, a Germany-based data and AI consulting firm, as a wholly owned subsidiary of its US-based subsidiary GlobalLogic Inc. from Maxburg, a private equity fund focused on founder-led technology companies in the German-speaking region. The acquisition is aimed at helping to accelerate the deployment of HMAX, Hitachi’s solution suite that focuses on operational autonomy and business model innovation through Agentic and Physical AI, helping to address customer and societal challenges in the AI era.

Accelerating Agentic AI and HMAX across energy and mobility
Synvert is a consulting firm known for its experience in:
AI-driven business design
Data governance and platform engineering
Integration and operations
With a portfolio of over 200 clients, Synvert supports enterprises in driving data-powered transformation and maintains partnerships with cloud and data platform vendors, such as Databricks and Snowflake, as well as with public cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
Once completed, the acquisition will complement GlobalLogic’s AI and digital engineering capabilities, helping to strengthen its enterprise data value chain, and accelerate its development of Agentic and Physical AI. Synvert’s presence in Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and the Middle East is expected to further support the global expansion of HMAX in collaboration with Hitachi Rail and Hitachi Energy. The transaction is expected to close in the fiscal year ending March 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
Advancing Hitachi’s AI Vision
Hitachi’s Digital Systems & Services sector leads the company’s AI strategy under Lumada 3.0, evolving from Generative AI, which creates insights and content, to Agentic AI, which autonomously coordinates multiple tools to perform complex tasks, and now to Physical AI, where intelligent systems interact with and provide control solutions to the physical world through robotics and IoT-enabled devices.
The Hitachi AI Center of Excellence has deployed more than 1,000 generative AI use cases, including mission-critical applications, and has implemented Agentic AI in over 200 global operations to help enhance risk analysis, predictive maintenance, and system integrator efficiency.
Relevance of the Synvert Acquisition
As Agentic AI helps to increasingly orchestrate decision-making and task execution across dynamic datasets, having a modern, enterprise-grade data foundation is critical. Synvert brings more than 550 specialists in data governance, platform engineering, and advanced analytics, with experience in data warehouse and lakehouse architectures that help to enable a more seamless ingestion, management, and activation of data needed to power autonomous agents and real-time decision systems.
By integrating Synvert’s consulting strengths with GlobalLogic’s VelocityAI platform and digital engineering expertise, Hitachi aims to help further extend its end-to-end value across the enterprise data lifecycle and deliver more scalable, secure, and production-ready Agentic and Physical AI solutions across industries worldwide.
