Schneider Electric Altivar ATH200 HVAC drives designed for compact HVAC equipment and OEM applications

Schneider Electric announced its new Altivar HVAC Drive family, including the ATH200 and ATH600. The drives are designed to help deliver over 30 percent energy savings, improve system uptime, and provide more seamless integration into modern building management systems (BMS). The new drive family is designed to help support higher efficiency and smarter operation, and has built-in protection features for more demanding HVAC applications.
The new drive family is designed to help support a broad range of applications and operating environments, including commercial buildings, original equipment manufacturer (OEM)-built equipment, and mission-critical facilities, such as hospitals, airports, and data centers. The new Altivar HVAC Drive family combines additional connectivity features, protection capabilities, compatibility with sustainable refrigerants, and cybersecurity-ready functionality.
The ATH200 is designed for OEMs and compact HVAC equipment, helping to shorten engineering cycles while supporting evolving sustainability standards. The ATH600 is designed for more mission-critical and higher-performance applications and buildings that require more advanced control capabilities, continuous operation, and deeper system integration.
HVAC systems play the primary role in maintaining airflow, temperature stability, and overall building performance. The Altivar HVAC Drive family is designed to support reliable operation across diverse operating conditions. The drives can operate in environments ranging from −10°C to 60°C and are engineered to withstand mechanical, thermal, electrical, and environmental stresses encountered in installations on rooftops, plant rooms, and outdoor enclosures, for example.

Built-in electromagnetic compatibility filtering and integrating motor thermal protection to help simplify installation.
Native Modbus and BACnet communication to support integration with building management systems.
A consistent 200-millimeter cabinet size designed to help simplify deployment across HVAC applications.
Materials aligned with REACH, RoHS, and ASI compliance requirements to help support more sustainable equipment design.
The drives also incorporate features designed to support future-ready HVAC infrastructure. These include IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 1 cybersecurity certification, secure firmware integrity checks, and upgradeable firmware capabilities. In addition, the drives support A2L certification and A3 refrigerant readiness up to 25 horsepower, enabling compatibility with low global-warming-potential refrigerants used in modern chillers, heat pumps, and HVAC systems.
Schneider Electric’s broader HVAC ecosystem integrates Altivar HVAC Drives with Modicon M172 and M173 controllers and Harmony HMIs. Together, these components help to support OEMs and system integrators in developing more energy-efficient HVAC equipment while helping to reduce commissioning time, simplify system design, and support long-term operational performance.
