Bosch Home Comfort Group and Hitachi agreed to collaborate on HMAX for Buildings to support intelligent connectivity, diagnostics, remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and energy management for commercial HVAC systems.

Bosch Home Comfort Group, the HVAC business unit of Robert Bosch GmbH, Hitachi, Ltd., and Hitachi Global Life Solutions announced that they have agreed to collaborate on HMAX for Buildings, a suite of building management solutions that combines commercial HVAC domain knowledge with advanced AI.

The collaboration is intended to help support intelligent connectivity and diagnostic capabilities for commercial air conditioning systems, as well as to help maximize the lifetime value of equipment in mission-critical facilities that require continuous operation, including office buildings, commercial complexes, universities, hospitals, and factories.

Building management teams are facing increasing operational complexity, labor constraints, energy cost pressures, and decarbonization requirements. These factors are increasing the need for connected equipment data, predictive maintenance, energy management, and more efficient facility operations.

As part of the collaboration, Bosch Home Comfort Group’s HVAC equipment management and visualization solution, airCloud Pro, will be integrated with Hitachi Group’s exiida, an HVAC IoT solution under BuilMirai and HMAX for Buildings. This integration will connect Bosch Home Comfort Group’s HVAC systems to BuilMirai.

The combined capabilities are expected to help support integrated operation and management of building facilities, including:

  • Remote monitoring

  • Predictive maintenance

  • Energy management

  • Maintenance cost optimization

  • Downtime reduction

  • Lower energy expenses

The companies plan to help verify the effectiveness of the collaboration through trials while continuing to develop more advanced services for commercial HVAC and building management applications.
