PTC introduced Arena Connect within the Arena PLM and QMS 2026.2 release, adding embedded integration and workflow automation capabilities across PLM, QMS, ERP, MES, collaboration, and other enterprise systems.
PTC released Arena Connect as part of its Arena product lifecycle management (PLM) and quality management system (QMS) 2026.2 release. The new capability provides manufacturers with a centralized environment for connecting business applications, linking Arena workspaces, and automating workflows across the product value chain.
As manufacturers expand their digital environments, product development, quality, manufacturing, and business data can become distributed across multiple systems. Maintaining consistency between those applications often requires manual data movement or custom point-to-point integrations. Arena Connect is designed to help reduce that integration burden by providing embedded integration platform as a service (iPaaS) capabilities directly within Arena PLM and QMS.
Connecting PLM and QMS with Enterprise Applications
Arena Connect helps tosupports integrations across PLM, QMS, ERP, MES, collaboration platforms, project management tools, and other enterprise applications. It can also connect multiple Arena workspaces or support custom business logic and validation workflows.
One use case is synchronization between Arena and Jira. Engineering change orders and quality processes can trigger the creation or updating of Jira issues as workflows progress, helping to reduce the need for teams to manually reproduce information across the two systems.
Arena Connect complements Arena's existing Developer Platform rather than replacing APIs or custom integrations. Organizations can continue to use APIs, webhooks, and data services for highly customized requirements, while using Arena Connect for lower-code or more standardized integration scenarios.
Visual Workflow Development and Pre-Built Connectors
Arena Connect includes a visual workflow builder that allows users to design, build, and test integrations using approaches ranging from no-code templates to custom code.
The platform also provides access to over 200 pre-built connectors and workflow templates for applications, including Jira, Microsoft Teams, and Slack. These capabilities are intended to help reduce the amount of custom integration development required for common workflows.
Workflow automation can operate in real time or on a scheduled basis using webhooks, the Arena Events Engine, and custom action triggers. A centralized administration and governance dashboard provides visibility into workflow executions, logs, alerts, and error handling.
This combination provides process owners with greater ability to configure common integrations while allowing IT teams and developers to better retain control over more complex integration requirements.
Arena 2026.2 Expands AI and Supply Chain Capabilities
The Arena 2026.2 release also introduces additional functionality across Arena AI Assistant, Arena Supply Chain Intelligence (SCI), and the Onshape-Arena Connection.
New AI Item Redline and AI File Insights capabilities use AI to summarize product changes, compare revisions, and locate information across documents using natural-language interaction. PTC has been expanding AI capabilities within Arena since introducing Arena AI Assistant and subsequently the Arena AI Engine for document analysis and comparison.
Arena SCI adds Automated BOM Compliance and a Component Browser to help provide greater visibility into component compliance, lifecycle status, and supply chain information within product records. Arena SCI was originally introduced to bring component availability and supply chain risk information directly into Arena PLM and QMS workflows.
The Onshape-Arena Connection has also been enhanced to help improve bill of material synchronization between CAD and PLM environments, such as transfer engineering information into downstream product and business processes.
Extending the Digital Product Thread
Arena Connect fits within PTC's broader Intelligent Product Lifecycle strategy, which focuses on establishing a product data foundation and extending that information across engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and other enterprise processes.
The integration layer is significant because digital product threads depend not only on maintaining authoritative product information, but also on making that information available across the systems that participate in product development and production.
Arena Connect provides an embedded mechanism for orchestrating these data flows without requiring every connection to be developed as a standalone integration. As organizations add applications, suppliers, business units, or acquired companies, reusable connectors and governed workflow automation can provide a more scalable approach to maintaining connections across the product ecosystem.
PTC's latest Arena release therefore extends the platform beyond PLM and QMS process management toward broader integration and workflow orchestration. Combined with Arena's AI, supply chain intelligence, and CAD connectivity capabilities, Arena Connect provides another layer for linking product information with the enterprise systems used throughout the product lifecycle.
