The Single Pair Ethernet System Alliance and the SPE Industrial Partner Network have merged into the new Single Pair Ethernet Association. The combined organization brings together more than 130 manufacturing and technology companies under a single global entity focused on accelerating the standardization, implementation, and market adoption of Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) technology.
The move reflects the growing momentum behind SPE as manufacturers seek simplified Ethernet architectures that can extend connectivity to sensors, actuators, and edge devices using a single twisted-pair cable. By unifying technical expertise, marketing activities, and regional initiatives, the new association aims to provide a stronger industry voice and further expand SPE's role in industrial automation, Industrial IoT, and next-generation digitalization strategies.
The formation of the Single Pair Ethernet Association comes at an important stage in the maturation of the SPE ecosystem. As end users increasingly evaluate SPE and the associated Ethernet-APL technology for hazardous installations, industry collaboration around standards, interoperability, and implementation best practices will be essential to accelerating adoption and delivering on the promise of pervasive Ethernet connectivity.
