Automation and embedded systems are having more and more in common. This was again shown at the annual Embedded World trade fair, held in Nuremberg, Germany. The fair has become the world’s largest show for the embedded community.  According to the organizers, the fair was visited by more than 32,000 (+ 7.3% compared to 2017) people in 2018.  1,021 exhibitors from 38 countries were showcasing their latest products and solutions.

On the "Embedded World 2018" show in Nuremberg, Germany, an interesting project was shown on the booth of the OSADL (Open Source Automation Lab) a registered cooperative with the mission to provide, distribute and license Open Source software components for industrial products.
