Overview
The second day of ARC Advisory Group's sixteenth India Forum for the process and discrete industries, Digitizing and Securing Industry, Infrastructure, and Cities from July 5-6, 2018 in Bangalore, continued with the same zeal and audience interest generated on the first day. ARC structured the Forum to disseminate information effectively and provide the over 250 delegates with an opportunity to network, understand market trends, and plan their respective digitization journeys.
Business pressures are driving manufacturers to implement new technologies and processes and become real-time integrated enterprises. No longer can organizations operate in silos; collaboration at all levels is the norm. Some companies already have a strategy for digital transformation, along with a realizable roadmap. This digital transformation will be widespread with far-reaching impact as it integrates information technology (IT), operational technology (OT), engineering technology (ET), and other services. The presentations on the second day of the Forum made it evident that new approaches are disrupting established business models; and to keep pace it is imperative to adopt these new strategies and processes. The presentations and lively Q&A sessions reiterated that:

Keynote Address on Digitization of Industry
The morning began with a keynote by G. Ganapathiraman, Vice President and General Manager, ARC Advisory Group, India. After giving a brief overview of the company he provided an interesting perspective of the digital landscape, elaborating on the role, challenges, and concerns of digital transformation. He covered all aspects ranging from IIoT to augmented reality and building information modeling.
