To navigate today’s tidal wave of digital transformation and to make disruptive technologies work, manufacturers, municipalities, utilities, and all other organizations need to roll out the right mix of technologies at just the right time. This means driving and managing change in processes, people, ecosystems, and technologies while keeping safety and cybersecurity at the forefront.

WebWindow on Industrial Cybersecurity

ARC Europe will present its Q4 WebWindow: " Industrial Cybersecurity: Status Quo and Trends 2018” on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 10.30AM CET and 3.30PM CET. ARC WebWindow is a series of quarterly top-level webinars covering current hot industry topics since 2015.

The objectives of this webinar are to:

  1. draw attention to cybersecurity challenges in the industry and identifying potential gaps,
  2. outline the threat landscape for cybersecurity stakeholders, and
  3. raise awareness for existing solutions, activities and research agendas.

Status Quo and Trends

Industrial companies are revisiting their own business processes and technology approaches as competitors and partners start to employ digitalized business processes and exploit the increasing convergence between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) on the plant floor. Trusted technology vendors are moving from IIoT concepts to actual IIoT products, solutions and services. Is digitalization a threat to cybersecurity and, if so, how can the risk be mitigated?

Cybersecurity challenges are mainly related to existing infrastructures (legacy systems, connectivity and applications), smart manufacturing developments (e.g: big data, IIoT and digital platforms), the ecosystems (integrating supply & demand) and the human factor (OT operators, IT experts). Existing challenges are complex, involve multiple stakeholders with impact on the manufacturing operations, as well as processes, people, procedures and technologies, with potential impact reaching far beyond the boundaries of the manufacturing environment. While many cybersecurity solutions exist, the webinar aims to identify some specific approaches related to the industrial cybersecurity challenges.

ARC’s European Industry Forum (EIF)

On May 21 – 22, 2019, ARC Advisory Group will host its European Industry Forum (EIF) in the Meliã Hotel Sitges in Spain where these questions will be answered in the workshop on “Cybersecurity”. A recap of 2018’s ICS workshop can be found here: https://www.arcweb.com/blog/eif-2018-ics-workshop

Topics at the Forum will cover the following topics:

  • Additive ManufacturingIndustrial Cybersecurity digitally transforming industry and cities
