Join Us for a Discussion on Secure Remote Access and Industrial Cyber Assessments at the ARC Forum

The ARC Forum is rapidly approaching, and on Monday, February 9, I am privileged to moderate a panel discussion on secure remote access and security assessments for industrial environments. This session will bring together a diverse panel of operational technology (OT) cybersecurity leaders to discuss the rapidly evolving challenges and requirements of securing industrial systems. This will be an open panel discussion, and we will encourage dialogue from the audience. The 90-minute session will provide OT cybersecurity professionals, technology developers, and solution providers with practical insights into modern remote access practices and industrial cybersecurity assessments.

The panel will feature experienced practitioners from some of the world’s largest industrial organizations, including Chevron, Air Liquide, ExxonMobil, BASF, and Braskem. Their collective experience spans global operations, complex risk profiles, and diverse digital transformation journeys. Are air gaps viable anymore? Industrial operations are increasingly becoming more porous as a wider range of connected workers require access to industrial data. Whether you are a connected employee with a mobile device in the field, a third-party contractor working on maintenance turnarounds, or a vendor partner with remote access to production assets, remote connectivity is becoming more commonplace, and organizations must implement a zero trust philosophy along with stronger identity and access management practices.

In addition to secure remote access, we will discuss cybersecurity assessments for industrial applications and how their requirements differ from those at the enterprise level. Risk-based approaches are growing in popularity, and many end users recognize that the risk- and consequence-based methods used in process safety are increasingly applicable to cyber risk management and resilience in OT and industrial environments. That said, assessments do not need to be overly complex to be effective within your organization. One topic I am particularly looking forward to discussing is how these approaches can be made approachable and achievable for small- to medium-size organizations with limited resources, as well as for large, integrated enterprises.
