Rockwell Automation and Schlumberger are collaborating to deliver a new digital solution that helps to optimize production by connecting upstream operations with real-time analytics and domain insights.

Announced at the SIS Global Forum in Paris, Rockwell Automation Connected Production technology was combined with oil and gas software, services and domain expertise from Schlumberger to create an end-to-end production advisory system. This new digital solution helps to enable self-declaring wells to be automatically discovered and integrated into the production environment, which helps to reduce deployment risks, costs and complexity.

System-aware production automation solutions and access to domain expertise are benefits of this new digital solution, which helps to bridge the skills gap in the oil and gas industry by providing real-time control and analytics at the wellhead. This new digital solution also provides communication technologies that allow information to be gathered and analyzed both remotely and in the field.

When production anomalies arise that workers cannot readily resolve, this new digital solution can connect with domain specialists and share information using a digital device. This in-the-field collaboration between the wellsite, control room and other locations helps to speed decision-making and streamlines operations.
