Rockwell Automation announced the expansion of its FactoryTalk Analytics portfolio. The latest additions were developed to help reduce the complexity of the operations environment for manufacturers, producers and their employees who are running operations.

FactoryTalk Analytics has been developed to be scaleable, helping to discover and connect data sources from the edge of the network up through the enterprise, and then using intelligence to fuse the information to help resolve issues closer to the source. At the edge or the device, this can often result in more immediate resolution of production issues.  Designed with machine learning capabilities, FactoryTalk Analytics can learn the process and look for trends in the data, proactively presenting users with insights, often before an issue arises.

FactoryTalk Analytics helps to bring more contemporary user experience capabilities, which are often common for consumer experiences, to the production environment.  Focused on helping to increase ease of use and productivity, FactoryTalk Analytics features internet-like search capabilities of production data, as well as self-serve drill-downs, enabling the user to make data-driven decisions more quickly.

Rockwell Automation has chosen the Microsoft Azure cloud as the preferred platform for FactoryTalk Analytics to help to develop and power more advanced IoT solutions from the edge to the cloud.

Rockwell Automation executed several customer pilots before the official release of FactoryTalk Analytics, which generated several purpose-driven applications that have prioritized ease of use and faster time to value.
