Telit, a global enabler of the Internet of Things (IoT), announced the release of major updates to their IoT Portal focused on capabilities to switch network providers on the fly, enhanced data continuity, more effective searching environments, and improved event and edge processing. The Telit IoT Portal is a cloud-based IoT subscription service, powered by Telit's deviceWISE IoT Platform. The Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) features a lower cost pay-as-you-go service plan and lets users get started without an upfront investment. Telit's do-it-yourself cloud service enables access to the tools and resources for Telit Services and lets users create and manage their own IoT solutions from a single web interface.
These product enhancements help to provide users with more direct control, offering tools to extract additional business intelligence from data, and expand event processing at the edge and in the Cloud.
- deviceWISE Asset Gateway Store and Forward (S&F) Function:
Helps to prevent loss of data when data transport connections are temporarily broken by providing gateway functionality. By storing all incoming data and then automatically sending it once the connection is restored, S&F maintains data continuity to help ensure information integrity in enterprise apps. Implementation of this capability helps to reduce time to deployment through simpler setup configurations versus custom code development.
- 64-Bit Versions for the deviceWISE Asset and Enterprise Gateways:
Telit is introducing a 64-bit version of its deviceWISE Asset and Enterprise Gateway SW in systems, such as Cisco Industrial Routers and those that run on Linux operating systems.
- Switch:
A roaming network selection tool that helps users make proactive changes of network providers at the subscriber's level on the fly. The switch is now available on the IoT Portal.
- Enhanced Search:
Helping to provide Telit clients with an easier way to find specific information on a rapidly expanding number of things and connections in their environments. The new enhanced search function performs searches to find a client by their properties, alarms, attributes, etc.
- Cloud Logic:
Custom designed event logic executed when application-defined events occur within the Application Enablement Platform (AEP). With simpler instructions, such as "if this, then that", users can develop and execute event-driven actions based on device data in the portal. With the new Multi-Action Sequential Triggers, users can build more complex event logic with branching logic using a new graphical programming canvas similar to Telit's standalone deviceWISE Workbench.
The Telit IoT Portal is Telit's cloud-based IoT subscription service, powered by deviceWISE, which is a set of tools and resources used for end-to-end IoT deployment. The IoT Portal lets users manage connectivity, devices, and data from a single web-based interface, which also includes administration and security, and application development functions. These tools make it easier to connect and integrate "things to apps".
To connect "things" to the Cloud, Telit offers a free deviceWISE developer trial. As a "pay-as-you-grow" service, the deviceWISE cloud-based IoT service has no cost of entry and offers access to a mature comprehensive platform, tools and developer resources, ranging from prototyping through large-scale commercialization.
