More than 200 managers and senior engineers from the factory and process automation fields in Japan attended the recent ARC Tokyo Forum 2014, where they had a good opportunity to acquire knowledge of the latest developments and trends in manufacturing, including approaches for safer, more secure and sustainable operations. Information-Driven Enterprise
To a certain degree, manufacturing operations have always relied on data for decision support. However, the emergence of new technologies such as cloud computing, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and embedded social and mobility applications -- combined with advanced analytics -- both dramatically expand the volume of data available to manufacturing organizations and the ability to extract actionable information from this "Big Data."
