Panduit Corp., a provider of Unified Physical Infrastructure (UPI)-based solutions, announces the launch of the Industrial Network Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). The Industrial Network UPS reportedly lowers the risk of downtime due to battery failures by 39 percent to keep key equipment in facilities operating at full capacity. It is designed specifically to back up industrial managed Ethernet switches.
Engineered to support efficient and reliable electrical power, the UPS is UL508 Listed, EtherNet/IP CONFORMANCE TESTED, and is listed in the Rockwell Automation Encompass Partner program.
Craig Resnick, ARC Advisory Group, commented, "With many manufacturers and processors dealing with the issue of a shortage of skilled labor, maintaining batteries in UPS systems can often fall through the cracks, and often goes unnoticed until the UPS is needed, and by then it is too late. UPS systems that utilize ultracapacitor technology, such as the Panduit UPS, eliminate this issue for the most frequent types of power loss, which are momentary or short term, preventing the havoc on the factory or plant floor caused by temporarily losing power to HMIs, network switches, etc."
