ACHEMA Forum 2015 – Cyber Security

At the ACHEMA 2015 trade show the organisations NAMUR, ARC Advisory Group and ZVEI will host their joint forum "Automation in Dialogue".  On all five exhibition days a range of talks will cover the major themes of automation technology in the process industry in a variety of different formats.

Which IT security risks arise from the Industrie 4.0 concept? The issue of IT security in process automation has until now only affected the most critical applications. Yet the growing connectivity and integration of cross-company networks are bringing changes. Hacker attacks can reach the IT infrastructure of production lines and interfere with it.

A list of hacker attacks published by the BSI (German federal office for information security) shows the urgent need for action. IT-attacks can lead to substantial damage for companies, resulting in disruptions or even downtime. What are the security implications resulting from the “digital revolution” described in Industrie 4.0? What are the dangers and hard-to-predict risks will operators be faced with? How can Cyber Security be implemented as early as the design phase of automation solutions?

In addition to high-profile panel discussions, visitors can acquire up-to-date information on selected topics in "Meet the Experts" and then join the experts for an informal discussion in the foyer afterwards.  The spotlight will not only be on hot topics, such as Modular Automation, IT Security, and Energy and Resource Efficiency, but also on the latest developments in Industry 4.0 and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things).  Additionally, the more traditional topics like Asset Information Management, Explosion Protection and Functional Safety will be addressed.

"Automation in Dialogue" will take place daily in the foyer of the ACHEMA Automation World from 15th to 19th of June 2015 in Hall 11, Level 1, Foyer Northwest.
