ARC Report Abstract

At the recent ARC India Forum in Bangalore, ARC provided opportunities for end users to share their experiences with the delegates, comprised of both technology solution providers and users.

End user organizations in India are looking to both reduce their dependency on manual operations and have real-time data available to use to improve production efficiency and capacity. As a result, we're seeing in-creased levels of automation in the industry.

This Insight covers the case studies presented by three different end user companies on the automation challenges they face, their journey to find appropriate solutions, and the benefits ultimately realized.

Sanjay Mantri, Assistant Vice President, IT Transformation Project at Strides Arcolab spoke about automation needs and challenges in the pharmaceutical industry. Vivek Gupta, Head of Department, Instrumentation at DCM Shriram presented a case study on a DCS upgrade project at the company's urea fertilizer plant in Kota (Rajasthan). Gaurav Saran and his colleague, Sristy Raj, both Senior Managers at the Process Visualization Group at Tata Steel spoke about the process visualization and di-agnostic techniques developed in-house and implemented at Tata Steel.
