Rockwell Automation announced that it has been recognized for achieving the IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level Capability 1 certification from TÜV Rheinland. This certification applies to the Allen‑Bradley PowerFlex 755T-series and PowerFlex 6000T drives, recognizing its compliance with the cybersecurity standards outlined in the IEC 62443-4-2 guidelines for industrial automation and control systems.

The certification process involved an evaluation of the drives' design and development lifecycle, ensuring that cybersecurity measures were integrated at every stage. This included threat modeling, secure coding practices, and security-focused testing to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.

Rockwell Automation has also met additional cybersecurity milestones, including:

  • Achieving Maturity Level 4 of IEC 62443-4-1 for its secure development lifecycle, independently certified by TÜV Rheinland.

  • Introducing the first programmable automation controller (PAC) certified compliant with IEC 62443-4-2 by TÜV Rheinland.

  • Implementing ODVA CIP Security systems for industrial networks.

  • Contributing as a founding member of the ISA Global Cybersecurity Alliance.

  • Achieving IEC 62443-3-3 Process Certification and ISO 27001 Certification for remote support.

This certification aligns with ongoing efforts to further enhance cybersecurity in industrial environments, where interconnected systems require robust protections against evolving threats.
