Company and Product News

Industrial network infrastructure provider Belden announced new additions to both its hardware and software portfolios. New products include incremental industrial ethernet switch offerings as well as updated software packages.

The company is expanding its Hirschmann SPIDER III family of unmanaged switches with 5-port and 8-port SPIDER-SL devices that offer built-in, hardcoded Quality of Service (QoS) functionality that increases reliable data transmission in EtherNet/IP or PROFINET applications according to Conformance Class A. The Hirschmann SPIDER III Unmanaged Switch Family is divided into 3 subfamilies. SPIDER III Standard Line Switches SPIDER III are affordable, entry-level switches for smaller infrastructures and field-level networks. SPIDER III Power over Ethernet Switches are suitable for automation environments that require reduced cabling. SPIDER III Premium Line Switches have many industry-specific standards certifications (like E1, DNV & ATEX) and are optimized for use in harsh environments, particularly with temperature.

Hirschmann’s Industrial HiVision software automatically detects, configures, and monitors network devices, including SNMP-enabled devices from multiple vendors. It simplifies device commissioning and replacement with Zero Touch Device Replacement. The latest Industrial HiVision version 8.6 enhances efficiency with a new licensing option for faster software delivery and registration while strengthening security through more granular permissions to restrict certain users from configuring external applications.

Belden’s PROVIZE software Suite provides network planning, configuration, and commissioning via a single, easy-to-use user interface. PROVIZE Planner Suite v1.10 introduces enhanced cable planning capabilities, PDF exports for streamlined network visualization reviews, and expanded role and device definitions to differentiate endpoints from devices and specify their functionalities.
