Mitsubishi Electric and Landis+Gyr announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for business collaboration to advance grid edge intelligence and accelerate the energy transition. As part of this collaboration, Mitsubishi Electric has joined Landis+Gyr’s growing Application (App) Ecosystem.
Landis+Gyr’s App Ecosystem is an open, scalable platform that enables developers to create applications delivering advanced analytics, operational optimization, and consumer engagement within a secure environment. Mitsubishi Electric will leverage Landis+Gyr’s ecosystem to develop grid edge applications and create advanced use cases, integrating with Landis+Gyr’s intelligent edge-capable devices, including its grid sensor, Revelo®.
Mitsubishi Electric brings decades of experience in energy systems and grid management to a growing community of technology providers and developers focused on addressing evolving grid challenges. Through this collaboration, utilities are expected to gain enhanced capabilities to manage increasing grid complexity, improve grid stability and reliability, unlock new functionality for distributed energy resources (DERs), and strengthen customer engagement. At the consumer level, the collaboration aims to support more informed energy usage and improved utilization of connected devices and equipment.
The initial focus of the collaboration will be on North America, where the deployment of distributed energy resources is accelerating and grid edge intelligence is gaining momentum. The partners expect this regional focus to enable the development and validation of a broad range of grid edge and DER-related use cases.
