Autodesk has introduced a read-only MCP server that allows external AI agents to access its product help documentation, supporting more accurate and reliable responses.

Artificial intelligence is increasingly shaping how users access information, solve problems, and interact with software tools. As AI assistants become more embedded in daily workflows, the quality and reliability of the information they provide are becoming critical factors in their effectiveness.
Autodesk has announced the public release of its Product Help MCP Server, a read-only service designed to allow AI agents outside Autodesk’s ecosystem to securely access Autodesk’s help documentation. The service enables AI assistants to deliver responses grounded in verified, up-to-date product information, supporting more efficient learning and issue resolution.

The Product Help MCP Server provides access to help content across more than 110 Autodesk products. This broad coverage allows AI assistants to support a range of user needs, including:
Getting started with Autodesk products and onboarding workflows.
Exploring features and capabilities across product portfolios.
Troubleshooting issues using verified documentation.
By referencing authoritative documentation, the service reduces reliance on generalized responses and improves the accuracy of guidance provided to users.
The launch reflects a broader industry shift toward integrating domain-specific knowledge with large language models. While large language models provide strong general capabilities, their effectiveness in industrial and enterprise contexts depends on access to accurate, context-rich data. Connecting AI systems to validated product documentation helps improve reliability and usability in real-world applications.
The Product Help MCP Server is available at no cost. Autodesk indicated that it would continue to explore additional MCP-based capabilities, with a focus on enabling practical and reliable AI-driven workflows across design, engineering, and industrial use cases.
