Cisco Industrial IoT launched three new offerings intended to bring the industrial edge into the Cisco Cloud Control environment. The new offerings include incremental industrial switch and router functionality, as well as new network visibility, segmentation, and secure remote access capabilities.

Cisco Cloud Control is a unified, AI-native operations platform that integrates networking, security, compute, observability, and collaboration into a single management environment. Cisco Cloud Control serves as the foundation for AgenticOps, allowing human IT operators and AI agents to collaborate within a shared, centralized workspace.

Manage the Catalyst IE3500 Switch via the Meraki Dashboard

The Catalyst IE3500 ruggedized Ethernet switch can now be managed via the Cisco Meraki Dashboard, which unifies security, dashboards, and AI workloads as part of the Cisco Cloud Control platform. A new plug-and-play power supply is also available, eliminating the need for wire stripping at installation.

New IR1000 Series Routers with 5G RedCap

The company introduced new ultra-low-power (<5 W), small-form-factor IR1000 Series routers that incorporate full Cisco IOS XE functionality, as well as a 5G RedCap pluggable interface module and RS485 interface. The IR1001 and IR1005 are targeted at applications in utilities, grid, and distribution automation.

New Cyber Vision Solution Combines Visibility, Segmentation, and Secure Remote Access

A new version of the company’s Cyber Vision solution is now embedded with select Cisco switches, including the IE3500, IE3500H Heavy Duty Series, and IE9300 Rugged Series. This upgraded version unifies asset visibility, auto-grouping, segmentation, and secure remote access to help customers move from observability and awareness alone to active protection.

These capabilities are enabled through functionality such as simulation and auto-segmentation for controlling the paths between assets and allow customers to move from manual to automated processes for testing policies against real traffic before enforcing them. The software automatically discovers OT assets and uses AI to build the segmentation recommendation, generate the policy, and test it prior to production.

Secure remote access capabilities enable control over the network paths people use to reach assets. OT teams can grant least-privilege, zero-trust access to specific assets, for specific people, for specific time windows, without the need for a separate appliance, parallel VPN, or waiting on IT for routine maintenance.
