Management and technology consultancy BearingPoint and GE Digital announced that they have joined forces to help companies develop new digital service offerings by utilizing the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0. The companies will focus on creating business cases by integrating smart services into the enterprise value chain. GE's experience with industrial data and analytics combined with BearingPoint's industry experience in value chain processes and enterprise PLM-, CRM- and ERP-systems enables companies to provide new digital service offerings to their clients.

Against this background, both companies will integrate GE's Predix, a cloud-based operating system for the Industrial Internet, to business processes primarily managed by PLM, CRM and ERP systems, allowing sensor data to be shared for new business cases in areas, such as customer service and new business offerings. This also provides software, apps and analytics that help enable industrial businesses to operate faster, smarter and more efficiently.

Together with BearingPoint's Smart Factory Model, which was developed in the company's IoT lab in Berlin, the two companies help their clients leverage Industry 4.0, which helps enable machines to communicate and share information. In addition, prototypes that use IoT technology can be developed and solutions can be implemented.
