Manufacturers continue to collect more and more data that they don't advantage of.  Big data by itself is virtually useless unless something is done that results in actionable intelligence and insight that delivers value to the organization.  Manufacturers today must make sense of the data to make actionable, data-based decisions.   This is pretty hard to do without the right technology.  At the ARC Industry Forum in Orlando last week Seeq, a technology provider of software and services that helps enable data-driven decisions, had several presenters from end user organizations discuss how they are using their analytics technology tool to help optimize production.

Seeq has been getting a lot of attention these days because of their many use cases.  At the Forum last week, they announced new partnerships, including partnerships with Schneider Electric and Inductive Automation.  They also announced another partnership with Honeywell this week.

At its Forum press conference, Schneider Electric announced that it is collaborating with Seeq to introduce EcoStruxure Profit Advisor, a new IIoT solution that enables plant personnel to see and understand the ROI and business value that their actions and assets are contributing to the bottom line in real-time.  EcoStruxure Profit Advisor uses analytics to measure the financial performance of an industrial operation in real-time, from the equipment asset level of a plant up to the process unit, plant area, plant site, and enterprise levels.  It does so using proprietary algorithms designed to optimize profitability.

Seeq’s technology is also being used to connect to Inductive Automation’s Ignition SCADA system platform to enable Inductive Automation customers to use Seeq to find insights in their data faster.  Working together, Seeq and Inductive Automation’s Ignition will provide their mutual customers with innovative control and a modern industrial data management platform, as well as interactive analytics for the collected data.  Users will be able to gain new insights to improve production using information that was impossible to obtain before.

Honeywell's collaboration with Seeq should make it easier for both firms to help their mutual customers gain new and valuable insights from their data.  These insights could enable industrial organizations to make better decisions, faster; enabling them to optimize their business and production processes.

Many manufacturing companies are using the analytics software to solve previously unsolvable problems.  Seeq’s technology is designed to make it faster and easier for process engineers, operators, and other manufacturing workers to find correlations and insights.  Users can take advantage of "Google-like” search engine analytics technology to find these correlations.  Seeq also has partnerships with Emerson Process Management and OSIsoft.  They will be announcing new features at the upcoming OSIsoft User Conference next month.

The cases we heard last week at the Forum and elsewhere are impressive and span energy, pharmaceutical, food, chemical and other process industries.  ARC has written reports on some of the use cases and will be writing more in the next few months.
