The Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) has published the fifth edition of the Journal of Innovation with a focus on edge computing.

At their recent EMEA end user conference in The Hague, NL, Honeywell presented their „Connected Plant Concept“. This included their IIoT-based Connected Performance Services (CPS) that offer the process industries the possibility to maximize efficiency.

CPS is a key part of Honeywell's Connected Plant initiative aiming to help manufacturers leveraging IIoT to improve the safety, efficiency and reliability of operations in a single plant or across multiple plants of an enterprise.

Red Lion Controls announced the CR1000 and CR3000, its newest generation of Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs). Both products employ new Crimson 3.1 software to provide more engaging interfaces with advanced design capabilities in addition to protocol conversion, data logging and web server for remote monitoring and control.

The Industrial Cyber Security Center of Excellence (ICSCoE), established by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Information-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA) as a public-private partnership, invited the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the ICS-CERT Training team to conduct Industrial Control System (ICS) cybersecurity joint training from September 19th to 26th, in Tokyo. ICS-CERT provided a four-day training session for ICSCoE sutudents and a two-day session for trainers.
