Andreas Conrad, Senior VP Operations, HARTING Technology Group will talk about “Computing at the Edge: The Benefits of Retrofitting Edge Computers to Legacy Injection Molding Machines”

Edge computers are rugged devices installed close to the machine to gather and analyze data, and prepare it for further analysis in the Cloud.  In our production plants, we have added our own MICA edge computers and Cloud analytics to existing injection molding machines that have been in service for years.  In this presentation, we will show you how we have learned to use and analyze data gathered by edge computers to reduce energy costs and improve asset management and production traceability.
